In 1989 formed the Swedes who published in 1993 and 1994 two albums that will mark a real 'musical era': the namesake "Suede" and "Dog Man Star". He has released two solo albums on Creation Records: the acclaimed “People Move On” and “Friends And Lovers”, both receiving nominations for the ‘Brit Awards’. He later undertook an intense and celebrated producer and songwriter career for countless artists including The Libertines, Tricky, Kate Nash, The Cribs, James Morrison, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Texas, Mark Eitzel, Sam Lee and Paloma Faith. In 2005 collaboration with ‘northern-soul’ singer Duffy began, whose debut album “Rockferry” would sell over 5 million copies, while Butler would win the Brit Award for best British producer in 2009. He played in records and 'live' for Pet Shop Boys, Bryan Ferry, Roy Orbison, Bert Jansch, The Libertines, Neneh Cherry, Robert Plant and Ben Watt, with whom he had intense live activity. In 2022 he released the album “For All Our Days That Tear The Heart” with Irish songwriter and actress Jessie Buckley, which has been nominated for the Mercury Prize. · See original ·
